We were honoured to welcome HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh to the Produced in Kent area at the Kent County Show on Friday afternoon.
Accompanied by our Executive Chair, Susie Warran-Smith CBE DL, Her Royal Highness spent a sunny hour meeting some of the incredible local producers we support.
The Duchess sampled award-winning hibiscus and cherry gin from Justine at Whitstable Harbour Gin, followed by a refreshing taste of raspberry fizz at Myatts of Mockbeggar. She then met David from Korko, who shared a selection of their African-inspired soft drinks, before being introduced to some impressively large rock oysters by the team at the Whitstable Oyster Company – though she politely declined a taste!
Her Royal Highness also had a meaningful conversation with Marva from Shhh… Menopause Wellness about women's health, before rounding off her visit with some delicious Kentish cheese from Jane at The Cheesemakers of Canterbury.
It was a real highlight of the day and a proud moment for all of us at Produced in Kent.
