Foodie hotspot Macknade is set to step into May with a fresh line up of vibrant events celebrating food, drink and community. From live music in the Food Village to outdoor cooking demonstrations and a dedicated evening of sake tasting, the Faversham food hall continues to bring people together through unforgettable shared experiences.
Friday Night Live with High Tide
Friday 1st May | 6pm – 10pm (music from 6:30pm - 8:30pm)
Macknade welcomes back High Tide, a Kent‑based trio renowned for their uplifting performances, playful humour and energetic crowd interactions. Guests can enjoy an evening of live music while exploring the Food Villages’ street‑food line‑up, featuring returning favourites and exciting newcomers. Vendors include SIG Pizza, Notorious BRG, Little Katsu Kitchen, Mac & Stacks and Bears Ice Cream Scooptopia. The Hop Shed Bar will also be open throughout the evening, serving wine, beer, cider and soft drinks, plus a pop-up cocktail bar from Wild Box.

Big Green Egg Demo & Tasting Event
Saturday 2nd May | 11am - 2pm
Macknade is hosting a free Big Green Egg demo day offering visitors the opportunity to explore the versatility of these iconic outdoor cookers. The Macknade 'eggsperts’ will guide guests through lighting the Egg, managing its temperature and achieving consistently impressive results.
Live cooking demonstrations will run throughout the event, with samples freshly prepared by the Macknade butchery team. Whether you are new to outdoor cooking or looking to refine your technique, this interactive session provides an ideal introduction. Guests purchasing any size Big Green Egg in‑store on the day will receive a complimentary Fuel & Accessory Pack worth over £130.

The Cinnamon Trust Big Walk
Monday 4th May | from 10am
Take the lead and join Macknade for this year's Cinnamon Trust 'Big Walk', inviting dog owners and their four-legged companions to take part in a relaxed, social stroll through the Faversham countryside in support of The Cinnamon Trust.
The 45-minute (approximately 3km) out-and-back walk offers the chance to enjoy fresh country air, connect with fellow dog lovers and learn more about the charity’s vital work. The event will finish back at Macknade’s dog-friendly Hop Shed, where every dog will receive a Cinnamon Trust bandana and owners can enjoy a special coffee and cake offer.

Sake Tasting - Discover the Spirit of Akashi-Tai
Friday 8th May | 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Macknade welcomes Akashi‑Tai for an evening exploring the craftsmanship behind their traditionally brewed artisanal sake. The tasting offers an introduction to the diverse styles within the Akashi‑Tai range, making it ideal for both enthusiasts and those curious to learn more.
The session will be hosted by Miho Komatsu, Global Brand Ambassador, who will guide guests through the selection while sharing insights into the brewing methods, flavour profiles and terminology that surrounds sake. Exclusive retail offers will also be available on the night.

Kids Half Term Pizza Workshop
Thursday 28th May | 11am - 1:30pm
Macknade’s popular mini pizza making workshops return during the May half term. Families are invited to drop in anytime between 11am and 1.30pm, where kids can knead the dough, spread the sauce and pile on their favourite toppings before watching their pizzas cook in the wood-fired oven.
The Food Village will be open so the adults can grab a bite to eat too, plus don’t miss the fun foodie activity sheets to keep the kids occupied post-pizza.

Macknade 10k and Half Marathon
Sunday 31st May | from 10am
The Macknade 10k and Half Marathon, in collaboration with Sporting Events UK, is back for its third year with a picturesque route that heads into the Faversham countryside. Runners and their supporters are invited back to celebrate at Macknade afterwards, where there will be live music from Abi Nash and delicious tastings from some of Macknade’s favourite food & drink producers, including True Start Coffee and Wantsum Brewery. The Food Village will also be open and is the perfect place to relax, refuel and soak up the sunshine!
