Macknade's Food Village returns with new traders, live music and expanded opening hours

The Food Village has become a staple of the local food scene, a place where visitors can explore bold street food, locally produced drinks and live music and entertainment in a relaxed, community-focused setting. This year, Macknade has also expanded the Food Village opening hours, giving visitors even more opportunities to enjoy the space throughout the week. The Food Village will now be open Thursday to Sunday 10am-4pm, with live music and extended hours (10am-10pm) the first Friday of every month.

NEW FOR 2026

Hop Shed Bar & Eatery

Newly refurbished and operating under a fresh name and vibe, the Hop Shed Bar & Eatery brings a new experience to the Food Village. With a rural, rustic atmosphere, the Hop Shed will serve hearty yet health-conscious bites alongside locally produced drinks. The space will also act as a hub for live music and social gatherings, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a drink and light bite with friends.

Mac & Stacks

For those craving comfort food, Mac & Stacks delivers everything cheesy and indulgent. Enjoy mac and cheese and thick, loaded cheese toasties, all built around a signature four-cheese base and delicious topping additions. Expect bold flavours, big portions and some serious cheese pulls.

Bears Ice Cream

One of the most exciting additions to the Food Village this year is Bears Ice Cream Scooptopia, from the team behind the award-winning Bears Ice Cream Imaginarium in Whitstable. The brainchild of husband-and-wife team Phil Harrison and Vera Thordardottir, Bears Ice Cream pushes the boundaries of traditional ice cream with imaginative flavours and combinations using high-quality ingredients and seasonal produce. With everything from popcorn to popping candy, visitors to the new Scooptopia at the Food Village can expect inventive scoops, indulgent toppings and a dessert experience that’s every bit as fun as it is delicious.

Little Katsu Kitchen

Back for another year, the ever popular Little Katsu Kitchen returns with its crowd pleasing mix of Asian fusion- inspired street food. Known for bold flavours and satisfying dishes, it remains a firm favourite among Food Village regulars.

Notorious BRG

The kings of big, brash burgers are back. Notorious BRG returns with its premium burgers serving- high quality burgers, loaded fries and house made sauces. The menu balances indulgent, crowd pleasing flavour combinations with bold, exciting creations that you’ve never experienced in a bun before!

Sig Pizza

Sig Pizza returns with its classic wood fired Neapolitan pizzas. Featuring high quality toppings and perfectly blistered crusts, their pizzas provide a causal option, ideal for sharing over a pint or two with friends.

LAUNCH PARTY - FRIDAY 3rd APRIL

To celebrate the reopening, Macknade will host a Food Village Launch Party on Friday 3rd April, marking the first opportunity for visitors to experience the new -line-up of street food traders and the refreshed Hop Shed Bar & Eatery. The evening will feature live music from the band Whiskey and Wine, creating the perfect atmosphere for a lively night of great food, drinks and entertainment. With new flavours, returning favourites and an exciting new bar space, the return of Macknade’s Food Village promises to be one of the highlights of the local food calendar this spring.
