Maidstone Schoolboy creates Foodie book for charity during lockdown

During lockdown, Alfred, who is 12 and goes to school in Maidstone decided to combine his passion for gastronomy with raising money for charity by writing a book of interviews with some of the best chefs and winemakers in the world.

A few months later, he has turned all the Q&As into a great book of 70 interviews with leading experts from the food & drinks sector. The participants range from Ferran Adria of elBulli to Sandrine Garbay of Chateau d’Yquem and many more (including Jancis Robinson). They share wisdom from their years of experience and funny anecdotes along the way.

Contributors from Kent included in the book include Stephen Harris at the Sportsman, Adrian Pikes at Westwell Wines and Eady Timms of Root cafe in Hythe.

For every sale, 100% of profits will go to FareShare, the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and tackling food waste.
