25th September 2025
On 24 September, Produced in Kent members gathered at the stunning THE PIG at Bridge Place for an evening of networking, insight, and incredible local food. The weather couldn’t have been better – a crisp, golden autumn evening that allowed us to make the most of the beautiful grounds.
We were warmly welcomed by Jamie Banner, Hotel Director at THE PIG at Bridge Place, along with his friendly and engaging team. As members arrived, they strolled through the kitchen garden in all its seasonal glory – pumpkins ripening, quince trees heavy with fruit, and rows of leafy brassicas.
Jill began the evening by introducing Kate Harvey, Group Sustainability Manager at THE PIG. Kate spoke passionately not only about the hotel’s deep commitment to local sourcing, but also their dedication to supporting staff. From developing future leaders within the business to giving all employees paid days to volunteer for charities, THE PIG is a shining example of values-led hospitality. And with all THE PIG hotels proudly B Corp certified, it’s clear those values are more than just words.
As the sun dipped behind the trees, the team served up a steady stream of wood-fired pizzas featuring local ingredients – including their own home-grown mushrooms. Members tucked in while chatting with fellow producers and industry partners in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
“THE PIG gave us the perfect setting for a truly memorable evening. The talks were genuinely inspiring, and the atmosphere was relaxed and full of energy. Events like this are all about making real connections – and enjoying brilliant local food while we’re at it. That’s the Produced in Kent way.”
