Our August NETWORK AND... event took members behind the vines on the edge of Romney Marsh
August's NETWORK AND... event brought our members to Warehorne Vineyard, tucked on the edge of Romney Marsh. Despite rain threatening earlier in the day, the sun held off long enough for a walk around the vines, giving everyone the chance to learn more about the vineyard from Deborah. We also learnt a thing or two about the more unexpected hazards of the job, including just how much trouble wasps can cause when the grapes start to ripen.
Members had the chance to taste some of Warehorne's award-winning wines, with the Divico coming particularly highly recommended by anyone who hadn't yet tried it.
Beyond the wine, it was an afternoon of connection - familiar faces catching up, new introductions being made. With Kent vineyards increasingly joining forces to champion the county - including the exciting development of the Kentish Wine Way - and harvest season fast approaching, there's never been a better time to explore what Kent's wine producers have to offer.
A huge thank you to the team at Warehorne Vineyard for welcoming us and sharing their story so generously, and thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Stepstone Imaging for capturing the day so beautifully.
