Shepherd Neame reopens its brewery shop to the public

Shepherd Neame is today reopening its brewery shop in Faversham after almost three months of lockdown. Britain’s oldest brewer, based in Faversham, continues to produce beer but its brewery shop, along with its pubs and hotels, have been closed since March 20 in line with Government advice. As part of the easing of lockdown measures, however, shops in England selling non-essential goods have been allowed to reopen today, and the brewery shop is among them. To ensure the safety of customers and team members, Shepherd Neame is introducing the following measures:
  • Plastic screen around the till area
  • Floor markings and posters to remind shoppers to keep two metres apart
  • Hand sanitiser station for customer use by the entrance
  • Card payments will be required
  • A maximum of two customers allowed in the shop at one time
  • Customers will be encouraged not to touch items unless they wish to purchase them
  • Additional staffing to help with any customer queries
  • Team members provided with PPE
The shop will initially open from 10.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, closing for a 30 minute break at 1pm. To assist with any last minute Father’s Day gift purchases, the shop will also open this Saturday (June 20) from 10.30am to 2.30pm. Giles Hilton, Shepherd Neame’s Head of Customer Relations, said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome customers back to our brewery shop. Our priority is to ensure the safety of our team members and customers, so we have put a wide range of protective measures in place. We hope to create our usual welcoming brewery shop environment while ensuring customers can shop with confidence.” Shepherd Neame also has an online shop, available at https://shop.shepherdneame.co.uk
