Shepherd Neame supports summer challenge celebrating Kent's coast

Kent brewer and pub company Shepherd Neame is encouraging people to discover more of the county's spectacular coastline this summer by supporting the Kent Coast Big Walk & Wheel challenge.

The initiative, led by Kent County Council (KCC) and hosted on the free WeRoam app, launches on Saturday, July 25. Developed by Active AI in partnership with KCC's Active Travel team and funded by the UK Government, the app is designed to encourage people to build more walking and wheeling and cycling into their everyday lives by rewarding them for being active. Users can log their journeys, earn points and unlock prizes and local rewards while exploring Kent.

The Kent Coast Big Walk & Wheel challenge aims to inspire more people to get outdoors this summer while raising awareness of the King Charles III England Coast Path. Kent's section of the National Trail stretches for 200 miles, showcasing some of the county's most spectacular coastal scenery as part of a route that will eventually encircle the entire coast of England.

To support the initiative, Shepherd Neame has become an official WeRoam Reward Partner, with 29 of its pubs and hotels featuring as reward locations on the app.

During designated Gold Marker weekends between July 25 and August 31, participants who unlock a Shepherd Neame reward can simply show their WeRoam app confirmation screen at the bar to receive a complimentary tea or coffee.*

Retail Operations Director Shane Godwin said: "We're delighted to support Kent County Council's Kent Coast Big Walk & Wheel and help encourage people to get active while discovering more about our beautiful home county.

"Many of our pubs and hotels are ideally located for walkers, wheelers and cyclists exploring Kent's coastline and countryside. We look forward to welcoming participants throughout the summer with a well-earned tea or coffee."
