Soft Fruit Season is Here - and You'll Find the Best of It at Hall Place Bexley Farmers Market

June is one of the most exciting months to visit a farmers market. Here's why you won't want to miss Hall Place Bexley this month.

June is the month when farmers markets really come into their own. The mornings are longer, the light is better, and the produce stalls are beginning to overflow with the best of the soft fruit season. Kentish strawberries - properly ripe, picked at the right moment, not shipped from thousands of miles away - are one of summer's great pleasures. And buying them from a grower who knows exactly how and where they were grown makes them taste even better. We’re also starting to see Raspberries appearing at the farmers markets in June too

Hall Place Bexley Farmers Market takes place on the first Sunday of every month(next date is Sunday 7th June between 10am and 2pm, in the beautiful grounds of Hall Place, Bourne Road, Bexley DA5 1PQ. It's one of our longest-running and best-loved markets in the Bexley Borough having first opened in November 2011 as a trial. In November 2024 it was announced as a finalist in the Farm Retail Association Farmers Market of the Year category - something we're enormously proud of.

June at Hall Place is a proper feast for the senses. Alongside seasonal fruit and vegetables, you'll find freshly baked artisan breads, locally brewed beers, fresh fish, game, cheese, hand linked sausages, handmade pasta, honey and so much more. And of course, our own jams, marmalades and chutneys are always on the stall - June is a lovely time to pick up a jar of raspberry jam, or a zingy lemon curd to go with all those spring bakes.

All of our markets are accredited as Real Farmers Markets by the Farm Retail Association, which means everything you buy is genuinely local, genuinely produced by the people selling it to you. No middlemen, no supermarket supply chains - just real food from real people.

Whether you're a regular or visiting for the first time, June at Hall Place is a market not to be missed. Come early for the best choice, and bring a bag - you'll need it. Apart from the farmers market there is lots to see and do on site at Hall Place including visits to The Butterfly Gardens, Jambs Owls and even the possibility of a ride on a miniature steam train from 12.30 on a Sunday
