Spooktacular Science This Halloween Half Term at Hever Castle

Families are invited to discover a Halloween adventure with a scientific twist as Spooktacular Science takes over the grounds of Hever Castle this October half term.

Running from Saturday 17 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, the historic estate will be transformed into a world of curious experiments, eccentric inventors and interactive family fun, with many activities included in the price of admission.

Young explorers can embark on Hever's Mad Scientists Trail, winding through the beautiful grounds in search of wild experiments, curious creations and spellbinding clues. Along the way, they'll discover mysterious scenes inspired by eccentric scientists, uncover hidden letters and solve the puzzle to claim a reward.

Budding scientists can get creative by making and decorating their own pair of Mad Scientist Goggles. Using colourful lenses and wearable designs, they'll be ready to join Hever's team of quirky scientists before continuing their adventure around the grounds.

Step into the thrilling world of mad science as Dr Frankenstein prepares to complete their greatest experiment yet - bringing their Creature to life! In this exciting and interactive experience, audiences will witness the power of electricity and a plasma ball as Dr Frankenstein awakens the creature in a spectacular scientific experiment. Once alive, the Creature begins a journey of discovery, guided by Dr Frankenstein through the wonders of the greatest subject of all - Science! Packed with fun, hands-on experiments, audience participation and plenty of messy moments, this captivating show sparks curiosity, inspires learning and invites everyone to explore the magic of science together.

For those wanting to complete their Halloween look, professional face painter Carol Slone of Sparkles Face Painting will be offering a range of spooky designs on selected dates (17-18, 22-25 and 29-31 October). An additional charge applies.

Whether solving puzzles, getting creative with hands-on crafts or enjoying live entertainment, Spooktacular Science promises a memorable Halloween half-term day out, combining seasonal fun, imagination and discovery in the beautiful surroundings of Hever Castle.
