Lily's The Hub Cafe

Pay as You Feel Community Cafe Offering employment opportunities to those with Autism & Learning Disabilities

Lilys coffee and bacon sandwich

We launched Lily’s Kitchen because we wanted to find a way of creating opportunities for people from all walks of life to access work and training. We wanted to challenge the idea work and training are only available for some of us. We wanted to use our love of food, community and the environment to feed into our ambitions. This is how Lily’s became a community.

The Hub Café next to Canterbury Baptist Church is a joint venture with the Church – we have a café, lots of space for groups and a community fridge for tops ups when you need them. The Hub Cafe also hand out food parcels for free for those who need them.

At the Hub we have a pay-as-you-feel system. This means if someone can't afford to pay, then they don't have too.

Pay it forward – you can buy a hot meal, sandwich, or drink for a homeless person when you buy something from us.

All our activities are populated by a community of trainees, apprentices and volunteers.
