18th February 2026
As winter begins to ease, signs of spring are emerging at Hawkenbury Flower Farm in Staplehurst. With beds prepared, bulbs pushing through and ranunculus and anemones thriving in the polytunnel, the farm is getting ready to open for the 2026 growing season on 1st April.
What’s Happening on the Flower Farm Right Now?
The raised beds are ready for planting, early bulbs are beginning to appear and the polytunnel is filling with spring favourites.
Ranunculus and anemones are already well on their way, bringing colour and anticipation to the new season. There are exciting developments planned over the coming months as the farm expands and introduces new experiences.
Looking for a Thoughtful Mother’s Day Gift?
If your mum loves English flowers, Hawkenbury Flower Farm gift vouchers offer a meaningful alternative to a traditional bouquet.
Each £30 voucher includes a visit to the flower farm, a personalised tour, refreshments and the chance to pick a bucket of flowers to take home and enjoy. Vouchers are available to purchase online.
When Do Floral Workshops Begin?
From mid-April, the popular floral workshops return. These relaxed two-hour sessions guide guests through creating beautiful spring hand-tied bouquets and sustainable table arrangements using flowers grown on the farm.
Workshops cover selecting, cutting and conditioning flowers, with each guest leaving with their own arrangement. Refreshments are included and no previous experience is required.
April and May sessions are now available to book via the website.
What’s New for 2026?
One of the most exciting developments this year is the addition of a new workshop log cabin, currently under construction.
Once complete, all workshops will take place inside the cabin, offering comfort whatever the weather. There will also finally be toilet facilities on site. As the season progresses, outdoor seating, shaded areas and an outdoor work table are planned for warmer days.
Additional raised beds and foliage planting are also expanding the growing space.
What Are the New Pick Your Own Sessions?
New for 2026 are intimate Pick Your Own sessions, limited to just four people at a time.
These smaller gatherings are designed to create a calm and relaxed experience, ideal for friends, mothers and daughters, or anyone looking to slow down and spend time surrounded by flowers and birdsong.
Sessions are £25 per person and can be booked online.
Introducing Gentle Farewells Rooted in Nature
Hawkenbury Flower Farm has also launched a new collaboration with Lilac & Lace Floral Design.
Gentle Farewells Rooted in Nature offers seasonal, slow-grown funeral tributes created without floral foam or plastics. Using 100% biodegradable mechanics, these designs are especially suited to natural burial settings where respect for the land is paramount.
