Kentish coffee roastery named as a "game-changing coffee brand" by The Times specialising in naturally processed arabica beans with full traceability. Earlybird our everyday coffee is directly traded with the 2023 most sustainable coffee farm in Brazil.
Kent-based coffee roastery, KIN Coffee, has quickly gained national acclaim since its April 2021 launch. Recognized as a "game-changing coffee brand" by The Times, KIN is the "first UK company" to offer freshly roasted coffee in glass packaging. The packaging features a custom lid with a one-way freshness valve, containing 90% less plastic than conventional coffee packaging valves. This unique design allows the use of glass, which is easily reusable and recyclable, while maintaining optimal freshness by releasing CO2 pressure during the "degassing" process.
Acknowledged in The Times for its sustainability efforts, KIN Coffee provides both whole bean and ground coffee, tailored for various brewing methods. Customers can choose between glass packaging and home-compostable refill pouches made from renewable wood pulp.
The labels, printed on 100% recycled paper from The Sustainable Print Company, contribute to the brand's commitment to eco-friendly practices. Co-founders Greg and Kate are dedicated to "speciality coffee," emphasizing ethical and socially responsible agricultural practices throughout their supply chain.
Their flagship coffee, "Earlybird," is directly traded with the Bom Jesus farm in Brazil, holding Rainforest Alliance (RFA) and UTZ certifications. This medium-roasted bean offers notes of milk chocolate and toasted nuts, with a smooth caramel sweetness, making it an everyday favourite.
All coffees roasted by Kin Coffee are naturally processed arabica beans that fully traceable.
In 2022 Kin Coffee opened their first coffee shop in Staplehurst, Kent. Supplied by local producers and eco-conscious suppliers.
Founded by couple Greg and Kate, KIN Coffee stands out as a 'game-changing brand,' blending high coffee quality with an environmentally conscious approach. All roasting takes place at their countryside roastery in Staplehurst, Kent and is sold online or at their coffee shop in Staplehurst.
