April always feels like a month of beginnings, which makes it a good time to talk about where our flavours actually start.
Many of the spices in our kits come from small family farms in Sri Lanka — places where cinnamon is still peeled by hand and peppercorns are picked fresh in the morning sun. These aren’t anonymous ingredients; they’re grown, dried, and blended by people who’ve been doing it for generations.
That’s why our curries smell different the moment they hit the pan — warmer, fresher, and somehow more alive.
A masterfully crafted blend for those who value true elegance. This exceptional infusion pairs a rich, balanced black tea base with delicate citrus and bergamot notes that enhance without overpowering. Sourced from renowned tea gardens, it combines the depth, brightness, and smoothness of carefully selected leaves for a full-bodied, harmonious experience. Light, fragrant, and beautifully refreshing, it awakens the senses with every sip. Finished with a scattering of cornflower petals, it’s as visually appealing as it is delicious — a sophisticated blend that transforms everyday tea into something truly special. Enjoy 20% off all orders throughout April and experience it for yourself. Shop now at www.mramestea.com.
We are well and truly heading into spring now, the oil seed rape is turning fields gold, the birds are singing and the potato prep has started. We managed to start prepping the fields back in March despite the soggy start to the year.
This month, we also celebrate World Health Day so why not visit us and take a walk across the estate, following one of our footpaths. Being out in nature does wonders for the body and soul! And if you’re passing the honestly stall why not stop and pick up one of our many varieties of potatoes or chose from our selection of wild game.
April means rhubarb, wild garlic, and the first asparagus spears, and there's no better place to find them than at a My Farmers Market event. A different location each week means you can follow the season all month long.
Bright, aromatic and full of energy, Nine Oaks’ Bacchus captures the fresh character of the Kent countryside in spring. Grown and made entirely on the estate in Hothfield, this small-batch white offers lifted aromas of elderflower, green apple and gooseberry, with flinty minerality and a crisp, clean finish. It’s a wine that feels optimistic and generous – equally at home poured with seasonal dishes or enjoyed simply for its freshness. A confident expression of modern English winemaking.
