Anton du Beke was born as Anthony Paul Beke, July 1966, in Sevenoaks. His father was Hungarian and his mother Spanish. He sadly had a difficult relationship with his father. The eldest of three, he went to Wildernesse School, Sevenoaks. Anton began dancing when he was ten, attending his local dance school, the Holton School of Dancing taking his first dancing exam in June 1978.
He started competitive dancing a few years later, specialising in ballroom. He said, "I wanted to be Fred Astaire but couldn't see how I'd get from a church hall in Sevenoaks, dancing a four step by the boys' toilets, to the silver screen." Anton married Hannah Summers in 2017 after dating for six years and they have twins - a boy and a girl.
